Invitation Dear Friends, Thank you for your keen interest on Entrepreneurship and Micro Business and for attending our training programme (organized from time to time in 2008 -2009). I am grateful to you for partly sharing the cost of the training. Entrepreneurship and Micro Business are essential for the development of Jharkhand. I am thankful to those who actively engaged in business activities during the past few months. From your reports I know how excited you were to earn income from your activities. In the training I have emphasized that such activities are not only important to the individual, but are also important to the family and the whole adivasi society in taking control of its own destiny. I am glad to inform you that through your active involvement a turn over sale of around 1 million rupees was reached in cloth items alone. By way of commission altogether you earned more than Rs. 1,00,000/-. Congratulations! Encouraged by this result we have planned to achieve the target of Rs. 15,00,000/- in the coming summer seasons when demand for light cloths especially made by cotton will be very high. I invite and encourage you all to participate with renewed zeal to earn income for yourself. In order to participate please do all\either of the following:
(1) Keep your deposits with APBEN Ltd. We believe, with your leadership we will succeed in bringing about significant changes in our society. With best wishes. Yours sincerely, Dominic Bara
Friends, It gives me pleasure to inform you that through our efforts many adivasi young people are showing keen interest in micro business enterprise and some are already engaged in self employment and earning income. In my opinion adivasi society badly needs leadership from such people crucial for the society to become master of its own destiny. With the assistance of APBEN Ltd. we have decided to give training to as many people as possible and to seriously follow them up in setting up their own enterprise. With this objective, we have organized a short training programme from 14 - 16 January, 2009 in Vikas Maitri premises. May I request you to sponsor interested and needy candidates for the training. The candidates must know some reading and have an aptitude for keeping accounts. Those who have already taken training from Vikas Maitri previously need not apply. We have organized the boarding and lodging free of cost during the training. However, the candidates have to pay a token of Rs. 50/- per person as registration fee. They are also to bear their own traveling expenses. The confirmed participants are expected to reach the venue by 13th evening. The sessions will start at 8.30 a.m. on 14th January. Looking forward to your cooperation and thanking you, Yours sincerely, Dominic Bara Adivasis ready to join Business A training programme organized for village youth on Entrepreneurship and Business Management organized in a village farm at Dumardaga from 14 - 17 October, 2008 shows that adivasis are ready to join business which had been so far a non-traditional occupation for them. Over 300 regular participants from far off regions enrolled themselves for the training. Some even came from neighbouring States.
The inaugural session was addressed by Fr. Dr. Beni Ekka s.j., Director of XISS. Bishop Dr. A.S. Hemrom, Director, HRDC and Fr. Sikkander Tirkey, Assistant Director, Chotanagpur Catholic Mission Cooperative Credit Society, Ranchi also addressed the audience. Miss Kiran Bala Minz, Assistant Programme Officer, Vikas Maitri welcomed the participants and Mrs. Ursula Nag, Community Organizer conducted the sessions.
Mr. Binkas Ecka (who has long experience of business) and Mr. Dominic Bara acted as resource persons. The thrust of the training was why local people of Jharkhand should come forward in the world of business? One crucial answer is that their country is full of resources. If these people take up business the influence of outside intermediaries could be minimized resulting in prosperity and development of the region. The resource persons specifically emphasized on some key attitude that need to be changed. In simple terminology they also explained the fundamentals of planning process and marketing strategies. The participants showed great interest in the subject. They also had a chance to discuss the problems and potentials in groups and present their plan in a general session.
On this occasion, Company Shares of APBEN Ltd. were allotted to new applicants. Many applicants already opened accounts for depositing money in the company. A temporary shop was opened for the purpose of giving training which also did good business.
On the whole the programme was a success.
Invitation It is the demand of the hour that village youth of Jharkhand take up leadership role in entrepreneurship and know the principles of business management to economically develop rural areas. This alternative to traditional agriculture and employment in service sector is important as there are limited opportunities in the later occupations. On the other hand because of opportunities of business in Jharkhand outsiders are taking up the positions which rightfully belong to the inhabitants. Since outsiders have little empathy with the locals there is a greater chance of profit seeking at the cost of the community. Vikas Maitri is aware of this lacunae and has plans to organize training programmes in small business enterprises for local village youth. With this aim, a short training programme has been organized from 14-17 October 2008 at the Vikas Maitri Programme Centre. For participants, educational qualification is immaterial. What they should possess is a desire to start business and some interest in accounting. Subjects covered
Who is an entrepreneur? The participants are expected to reach on 13th evening. The programme commences on 14th at 8.30 a.m. This will continue till 17 evening. Application to be made in prescribed format duly recommended by Headman, Priest or any other socially responsible persons. N.G.Os. who want to sponsor candidate in good numbers are expected to share training expenses. Arrangements have been made for free board and lodging of participants. Participants are expected to meet their travel expenses. A certificate of participation will be given to participants. Sincerely,
