APBEN'S SHOP

Tribal handicrafts

The tribals of Jharkhand have a distinct style of apparel. The cloth was woven in primitive loom operated by hand  by certain communities. The tribals themselves used to grow cotton in those days and also spun the yarn in the family. Because of the industrial growth the farmers are no more growing cotton and the weavers have abandoned their work as the main means of sustainance. However, a few of them have still not forgotten the skills of weaving beautiful cloths.

The shop sells these cloths besides other items such as readymade garments, village products such as honey, agricultural seeds, organic fertilizer, and electronic equipment such as stabilizers and emergency lights made by adivasi boys.
